Assumptions

People will want to assume education can be provided in different channels and modalities

    • Expectations for lightning speed change: What, where, when you want your education; flexibility
  • People becoming more diverse—state and nationally
  • More movement to online education
  • Expectation of personal touch + technology—enhance not displace
  • Increase desire to learn -not necessarily for credit
  • Expectation for seamless—without silos
  • Education continues to be more expensive
  • ROI expectations also will increase
  • Increased competition
  • Value of degree in question
Mission
  • Seems siloed
  • Disconnect between faculty view of purpose and career-directed, competition
  • To whom are we accountable? Mission getting blurred
  • University system not a strength right now—some inertia
  • Generic
  • Innovative tech society in WA state should be reflected
  • Strong Coug ID and alumni base
  • Loyalty does not equal donations
  • Physical location – rural but serve urban areas

  • “Diversity” is old school. Change to “inclusivity”
