Chris joined WSU in July 2014 after serving in a variety of senior scientific and managerial positions at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
His background includes extensive experience in program and project management, strategic planning, and budget planning/management, particularly in his role as a deputy assistant secretary leading the $500 million a year NNSA Inertial Confinement Fusion program.
Chris co-chaired a White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) task force developing new policies, programs, and strategic plans in his areas. He has also served on federal advisory committees involved in developing DOE Office of Science strategies and plans.
