Nutrition Education

Our programs support individuals and communities to make healthy choices and be more physically active by facilitating policy, system and environmental changes and providing nutrition education classes. Classes, offered both online and in community settings, help participants improve diet quality, increase physical activity, and expand food resource management skills. Two key programs include our Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program Education (SNAP-Ed).

EFNEP

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) helps promote healthy eating and physical activity. EFNEP is designed to serve families with low incomes and is funded by USDA NIFA through the land-grant university Extension system.

SNAP-Ed

The goal of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program- Education (SNAP-Ed) is to reduce health inequities through nutrition education and support of policies and practices that promote healthy lifestyles and well-being for under-resourced individuals and families.
